El clásico memorial Felipe Pérez (fallecido en 2009) celebró su 6ª Edición el viernes 10 y sábado 11 de Agosto de 2018.

Los participantes jugaron en formato “Shot Gun” y en la modalidad de Pro-am “DOS MEJORES BOLAS – MEDAL PLAY”, realizándose dos salidas al tiro cada día a las 9.00 y a las 15.30, tanto el viernes como el sábado.  La asistencia total fue de 92 equipos – 368 jugadores.

Obtenían premio los 3 mejores resultados profesionales: de 3.000€, 2.000€, 1.000€ y 500€ respectivamente.

Durante la entrega de trofeos, que tuvo lugar en la terraza del Restaurante Mijas Golf, se pudo disfrutar de un ambiente de lo más agradable y animado; dando paso después a una de las mejores rifas hasta el momento, con premios tan atractivos como 1 abono vip ilimitado para 2019 en Mijas Golf, material de golf de prestigiosas marcas, cenas degustación, suites y fines de semana en maravillosos hoteles y un gran número de greenfees para jugar en algunos de los campos de golf más reconocidos de la provincia de Málaga, entre otros muchos regalos.

Este año el Proam  tenía también un carácter benéfico y los 3750€  recaudados se entregaron a la asociación benéfica  GolfSolidarios.

Durante el discurso de agradecimiento previo a la entrega de premios, el Director de Mijas Golf – D. Lorenzo Pérez – tuvo muy en cuenta tanto a patrocinadores como a colaboradores, sin cuya confianza y generosidad no se hubieran no se hubieran podido ofrecer tan fabulosos premios.

The 6^th edition of this Memorial to Felipe Pérez Cortés (passed away in 2009) was hosted on Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th of August 2018.

The participants played in a “Shot Gun” format and the modality of the pro-am was “2 Best balls”. There were two shot guns on each day, Friday and Saturday at 9.00 am and 15.30; which resulted in a total attendance of 92 teams (368 players).

The prizes were for the 3 best professional results: 3.000€, 2.000€, 1000 € and 500€ respectively.

Everybody enjoyed of a pleasant and entertaining atmosphere during the prizes giving at Mijas Golf Restaurant Terrace, culminated by one of the best raffles so far at Mijas Golf Club: 1 unlimited yearly membership at Mijas Golf for 2019, fabulous dinners at local restaurants, Suites, stays in wonderful hotels, a large number of green-fees to play in some of the most renewed golf courses in Málaga, golf equipment from excellent brands and much more.

Mijas Golf Director D. Lorenzo Pérez, very thankful, dedicated a part of his speech to emphasize the enormous generosity and trustfulness of our Sponsors and Collaborators, who made possible such a fabulous prizes giving and raffle.

El clásico memorial Felipe Pérez (fallecido en 2009) celebró su 5ª Edición el viernes 15 y sábado 16 de Diciembre de 2017. El Proam, que se ha venido realizando en el mes de Agosto cada año, tuvo que ser retrasado a Diciembre; ya superados los estragos causados por las últimas dos inundaciones.

 Los participantes jugaron en formato “Shot Gun” y en la modalidad de Pro-am “DOS MEJORES BOLAS – MEDAL PLAY”, realizándose dos salidas al tiro a las 10.00 de la mañana tanto el viernes como el sábado. La asistencia total fue de 50 equipos – 200 jugadores.

 Obtenían premio los 3 mejores resultados profesionales: de 2.000€, 1.000€ y 500€ respectivamente.

The 5^th edition of this Memorial to Felipe Pérez Cortés (passed away in 2009) was hosted on Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th of December 2017. The Proam, which has been celebrated in August every year, was postponed to December for the course to be recovered from the last devasting two floods.

 The participants played in a “Shot Gun” format and the modality of the pro-am was “4-ball 2 Best balls”. There were two shot gun on Friday and Saturday at 10.00 am; which resulted in a total attendance of 50 teams (200 players).

 The prizes were for the 3 best professional results: 2.000€, 1.000€ and 500€ respectively.

¡Ya falta muy poquito para inaugurar nuestro nuevo kiosko!

Apenas quedan ya algunos detalles por ultimar y estará listo justo para la temporada estival; una paradita donde nuestros clientes podrán saborear un merecido tentempié o recargar “pilas” con su  bebida favorita.

Además de los típicos bocadillos, snacks y refrescos, también se podrá disfrutar de un delicioso café.

Su interior dispondrá asimismo de aseos, lo cual consideramos una mejora a destacar siempre pensando en la comodidad de los jugadores que visitan nuestras instalaciones.

El kiosko está situado entre el putting green y el hoyo 10 de Los Lagos (a pocos metros de la caseta del Starter), zona donde también se está llevando a cabo una ampliación del espacio habilitado como aparcamiento.

New refreshments stand will be opened in a short time!!

Only a few details remain to be finished and it will be ready just for the summer season; a stopping place where our customers will be able to savor a well deserved snack or to “recharge batteries” with their favorite drink.

In addition to the typical sandwiches, snacks and refreshments, it will be also be possible to enjoy a delicious coffee.

There will be toilets inside, which we consider a remarkable improvement with the purpose to offering all the possible comforts to our visitors.

This refreshments stand is located between the putting green and Los Lagos 10^th Tee (only a few meters from the Starter’s Hut), where we are also extending the area enabled as parking.

Son ya casi dos meses trabajando sin descanso en las reparaciones de Los Lagos tras los destrozos de las inundaciones de Diciembre. Todo el personal y la maquinaria extra para realizar dichas labores han sido necesarias, pues es sin duda el revés más fuerte sufrido por Mijas Golf en los últimos 30 años.

Hemos tenido que superar el dolor y la frustración de contemplar los efectos de dicho temporal en un campo en el que, no hace mucho, realizamos la enorme inversión de reformar por completo.

Seguiremos adelante con estas reparaciones durante el mes de Febrero, por lo que Los Lagos también permanecerá cerrado el mes que viene. Pero también tenemos buenas noticias: Estará por fin abierto el día 1 de Marzo.

Os dejamos con algunas fotos del lago del hoyo 11, donde el personal de mantenimiento se encuentra aún quitando barro y reconstruyendo el muro; así como sustituyendo la tela de dicho lago que quedó totalmente destruida.

It’s been almost two months working without rest in Los Lagos’ reparations after the disaster caused by December’s floods. The whole staff team and extra machinery have been necessary to carry on with this work; as this is, without any doubt, the hardest setback suffered at Mijas Golf in the last 30 years.

We have had no choice but to overcome the pain and frustration to see the effects of this rain storm in the course on which, not so much ago, we did the huge investment to completely refurbish.

We will continue with the repairs along the month of February; which mean Los Lagos will be also closed during next month. But we have also good news: It will be finally open on the 1^st of March.

Here you are some pictures showing the 11^th hole’s lake; where the maintenance staff is still removing mud and rebuilding the wall, as well as changing the lake piece of fabric – which was totally broken-down -.

El Longest Drive European Tour 2014 hizo su parada en Karben-Petterweil (Alemania) los días 23 y 24 de Mayo.  Una nueva cita para los grandes pegadores que desean poner a prueba su fuerza y su destreza una temporada más.

En este segundo encuentro  del Tour 2014, entre todos ellos se escuchó también el nombre del español Miguel Pérez, quien ya  participó en el Campeonato de España 2013 en la categoría Amateur con un mejor golpe de 330 yardas.

Su participación en el campeonato alemán, le otorgó el puesto número 10 del ranking en ese momento; el ranking actualizado puede consultarse más abajo.

El joven de 20 años  respondió a un par de preguntas sobre sus primeras impresiones del comienzo de esta temporada:

• Como jugador que se estrena en el circuito LDET, ¿Qué esperas de esta temporada 2014?

Mi principal objetivo es aprender tanto como pueda y hacer una toma de contacto con el circuito. Así como conocer a los otros jugadores y, si tengo suerte, obtener un pódium en alguno de los torneos  europeos en los que competiré.

• ¿Qué significa para ti formar parte del Tour?

 Para mí, como jugador y amante de este deporte, es una gran oportunidad el poder participar en el circuito LDET y estoy muy orgulloso de representar a Mijas Golf a lo largo de toda la temporada.

The Longest Drive European Tour 2014 made a stop at Karben-Petterweil (Germany) on the 23^rd and 24^th of May: A new appointment for these great hitters wishing to demonstrate their strength and skill one more year.

In this second meeting of the 2014 Tour, among them you could also hear the name of the Spanish Miguel Pérez, who already participated in the Amateur category of the Spanish 2013 Championship with a best hit of 330 yards.

His performance in the German Championship meant the 10^th position at the ranking for him at that moment; but the updated ranking can be checked bellow.

The young 20 years old boy answered a couple of questions about his first impressions at the beginning of the 2014 season:

•  As a new player of the LDET circuit, what do you expect for the 2014 season?

 In my first season, my main goal is to learn as much as I can and make contact with the circuit. Also make contact with the other players and if I am lucky to reach a podium in any of the tournaments that I will compete around Europe.

• What does it mean for your to be part of the tour?

For me, as a player and lover of this sport, it´s a big opportunity to participate in the LDET circuit and I am very proud to represent Mijas Golf during the whole season.
